Forwarding Condal sets up a new division for seafreight to the Canary Islands
NEWS
Forwarding Condal has launched a new division for seafreight to Canary Islands, which will be tasked with providing freight forwarding acting as NVOCC services from anywhere on the Iberian Peninsula.
This new service includes weekly departures from Barcelona under Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) formats, with home deliveries across the islands of the archipelago, thanks to the company’s proprietary agents located in Las Palmas and Tenerife.
Over the last five years, maritime shipping of goods originating from or destined for the Canaries archipelago has grown 24%, while interinsular traffic has expanded 30%, with robust growth in e-commerce and internationalisation.
The Canary Islands boast enormous potential in the fields of transport and logistics, thanks to being strategically located between Europe, Africa and the Americas; and likewise due to development of the domestic market. By launching our new seafreight to the Canary Islands division, we will be able to provide greater flexibility and efficiency to cater to businesses that send or receive merchandise to and from the islands.
We are also following the emerging opportunities in the Canary Islands in sectors such as e-commerce, which is gradually overcoming the challenges posed by distance and converging with levels seen on the Peninsula.
This new division sees Forwarding Condal bolster its standing at major domestic and international ports, thus driving progress in its mission to act as partner and central operator in any domestic and international logistical transport operation.
